OFFICER JACQUELINE SHIOLI
“Policing has offered me so much more than I thought it would, relationships with the community, helping people on their worst day, changing the public’s view on today’s policing and so much more.”
My name is Officer Jacqueline Shioli. I have been with the Bartlett Police Department for over three years. Prior to being a police officer, I attended Western Illinois University where I received a Bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration. I always thought I wanted to use municipal policing as a stepping stone for a federal agency. Coming into this career I wanted to gain skills that would assist me in my “federal career”. I can tell you now, my plans have completely changed. Policing has offered me so much more than I thought it would, relationships within the community, helping people on their worst day, changing the public’s view on today’s policing and so much more. There is truly no better feeling than a kid coming up to you saying they want to be a police officer just like you when they grow up! Working for Bartlett PD, I have the opportunity to learn something new every single day, which makes me never feel as if I will ever be bored. Although I have only been a police officer for a short time, I was given the opportunity to become one of our Field Training Officers. I now get to assist in molding our newer officers into something great the community will appreciate! Bartlett PD has given me some of the best coworkers to count on and a great community who supports us. Bartlett PD must’ve just been the place for me because back in 2018 I completed a 6-month long internship prior to my college graduation. In 2020, I got hired as a police officer here and in 2023 I plan to spend the rest of my career here.
